Over the years, in British Columbia, Canada, hunting moose has become extremely popular. Because we are a privately owned lodge, hunting at Nakalat is only available to invited guests.
The territory is a mixture of pine, spruce, and poplar forest with an abundance of open meadow and wetlands.
The location is home to a variety of wildlife such as moose, black bear, a few grizzly, and numerous wolves and coyotes. Because hunting in the area is very limited due to it's remote location, the moose population is very stable and healthy. Bulls range in size from immature to large bulls in the 35 to 60 inch range. 40 to 50 inch bulls are quite common in the area. We are pleased to offer a limited number of openings for bulls and cows to non residents and residents as well.
This is a truly unique hunting experience and openings are limited so be sure to book early to avoid disappointment! Fishing is also offered to our hunters at no charge to those who wish to do so! A great way to spend a few days after YOU bag your moose!
Very little advertising has been done over the years and because of that, we have remained much as we were many years ago. Some say we are the best kept secret in the north central interior! Our guests are picked up in Prince George or Fort St. James (worth a stop itself) and transported to the Fort and then to the lodge on our 29 foot M.V. Miss Virginia 11. She was constructed especially for comfort, speed, and safety Travel time to the lodge is about I hour and 15 minutes and the scenery is breath taking. We can also arrange for air travel if you wish. Remember, there are no roads to the lodge. All packages can be tailored to the customers needs and we will be happy to assist you in anyway we can.
